Build and Automate Custom AI Assistants

Learn how to create custom AI assistants in Microsoft Copilot Studio. You will build guided conversations, connect agents to useful information, and add automated workflows so they can answer questions and complete structured workplace tasks.

This course is for people who want to create more capable workplace agents without developing a traditional software application.

It would be helpful if you had some experience using Copilot Studio, though not necessary.

You will learn how to:

• Create and configure agents in Copilot Studio.
• Design guided conversations for common questions and tasks.
• Use workplace information to produce more relevant answers.
• Add reliable automated workflows that agents can run.
• Test agent conversations and check that automations behave correctly.

1. Get started with Microsoft Copilot Studio – Learn the main concepts and tools used to create agents for employee or customer needs.
2. Design agent conversations using topics – Build guided conversations for specific questions or tasks using topics, which are reusable sections of an agent conversation.
3. Build intelligent agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio – Connect agents to knowledge sources and generative AI so they can give relevant, context-aware answers.
4. Add structured automation to agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio – Create and test workflows that let an agent carry out predictable, step-by-step tasks.

Course-content note: Microsoft states that these modules use the classic Copilot Studio experience, so some screens, features and navigation may look different in the current product.

Licensing note: Some of the features demonstrated in this course require a Microsoft 365 Copilot premium licence. You can still learn the concepts without one, but if you want to build and use these AI agents during or after the course, you or your organisation will need the appropriate licence.
